Another suggestion is to go to Townsend TN instead. It is called the "quiet side of the Smokies". It is non-touristy, more rural, less hectic, and only 30 minutes south of Gatlinburg. Your could get married in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and stay in the cabins around Townsend.
